According to The Independent, King Charles has reportedly not extended an invitation to Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Earl Spencer, for his upcoming coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday. The decision has come as a surprise to close members of Prince William and Harry’s uncle’s family, who were expecting him to be invited. While it’s possible that Earl Spencer may have declined the invitation due to historical reasons, the exclusion has left no room for diplomatic explanation. Charles Spencer had previously vowed to look after his nephews at the funeral of his sister, Princess Diana, which took place at Westminster Abbey around 25 years ago. King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6th.
